Title: Hunting Ground
Author: Patricia Briggs
Series: Alpha & Omega, Mercy Thompson
Publication Date: August 25th, 2009
Synopsis: Anna Latham didn’t know how complicated life could be until she became a werewolf. And until she was mated to Charles Cornick, the son — and enforcer — of Bran, the leader of the North American werewolves, she didn’t know how dangerous it could be either…
Anna and Charles have just been enlisted to attend a summit to present Bran’s controversial proposition: that the wolves should finally reveal themselves to humans. But the most feared Alpha in Europe is dead set against the plan — and it seems like someone else might be too. When Anna is attacked by vampires using pack magic, the kind of power only werewolves should be able to draw on, Charles and Anna must combine their talents to hunt down whoever is behind it all — or risk losing everything.
Review: This is the second book in the Alpha & Omega series, the third book in the complete Mercy World Thompson series. In this one Charles and Anna go to Seattle where there is a meeting to discuss the werewolves coming out with the European Alphas. Aside from the Seattle pack, Anna, and Charles most everyone else we meet is from a European pack. We do finally get to meet another omega but we still don’t learn a whole lot new about them or what they can do. While I really enjoyed this one and I loved the character growth that we see of both Anna and Charles I am really looking forward to re-joining Mercy and Adam. It would be nice if we got to see more crossover between the two ‘series’.
