Title: Betting on Fate
Author: Katee Robert
Publication Date: January 5th, 2015
Synopsis: This time, all bets are off…
Penelope Carson loves to steal clients from Will Reaver. Yet something in her business nemesis’s icy blue eyes makes Penelope…nervous. It certainly doesn’t help that the man is the living embodiment of a Norse god. A controlled, powerful Norse god. Which she really should have remembered before she made a bet with him—because losing means becoming Will’s personal submissive for a week. There’s nothing Will would like more than to have Penelope kneeling before him in complicit submission, her fiery dark eyes inviting him in. Challenging him. But their bet takes Will and Penelope deeper than either of them have ever been. Where control is an illusion, and boundaries are pushed aside. And where hearts become the stakes in a game that neither Dominant nor submissive can win.
Review: When I picked this one up I had pretty much sworn off books in this genre so I was a little iffy. I don’t know what I was worried about, Katee knows how to rock it, and she does it very good. I really loved the book and between her and Tessa they reminded me why I do enjoy and love this genre so much. This is the second book of Katee’s set of Serve books and I enjoyed it just as much as I did the first one. I read it in one sitting, unable to put it down because I wanted to finish the book. I loved Penelope, and of course Will, but mostly Penelope. I would say I was looking forward to the next one but I had an eARC of it and immediately read it afterwards! I do need to go see what Katee is working on next though.
Recommendation: Yes, especially for people looking for WOC MC
