Do you have a preference between “person” in the books you read? Do you prefer third-person to first-person? Or don’t you care? And, why?

I really don’t have a preference between the first and third, it used to be that I couldn’t stand first person but it doesn’t bother much so much anymore. The only time first person bothers me is with more than one narrative. I have found that most authors don’t do dual narratives well and it makes it hard for me to keep track of whose point-of-view that I am reading. I started one book where I had to constantly keep going back to the first page of the chapter to find out who it is. For me dual first person narratives only work if the author makes sure that each person has their own voice and can stick to that.

Musing Mondays is a meme from Should be Reading.
